Four Wheel Traction - an Enthusiasts Site

This Site:
Was started on August 2nd 2004, inspired by a letter in Classic Tractor magazine (September 2004 issue) asking for information about Simon Perry and his Massey Ferguson 178 with Four Wheel Traction conversion. We thought there must be others who would welcome any information about Four Wheel Traction, (and in fact any other unusual four wheel drive conversions), and we would also like to hear about other Four Wheel Traction tractors that are in existence!
As you will find, I'm still in the process of building the site...but I was keen to get it up and running....so...the site will be updated as soon as new information or show dates etc. become available.

Four Wheel Traction:
Four Wheel Traction manufactured four wheel drive conversions for Massey Ferguson tractors & power steering boxes for Ford tractors. They were based at 15, North Audley, Street, London, W1Y 2LR, and unfortunately are no longer in business. ( We are still in the process of finding the actual dates that the company were in existence to and from - any information will be most welcome!).
Article:
Click Here for a link to an article about Four Wheel Traction conversions, taken from The Farmer & Stockbreeder magazine, August 26th,1969 (this article was very kindly sent to us by Robin Ketley of Bronwylfa Farm, Clwyd who runs the Owners Register for Selene Massey Ferguson conversions).
Books:
There is a section on Four Wheel Traction (page 177) in the excellent book "Roadless", by Stuart Gibbard (Farming Press - ISBN 0 85236 344 3).
Selene:
(Pronounced "sel-een-ee"). Another make of 4 wheel drive conversion - more details to follow soon.
Known Tractors:
At the moment we know of about 12 tractors with a Four Wheel Traction conversion that are still in existence, but know there must be more out there! Any information will be gladly received!
Massey Ferguson 178 with 4WT conversion. Owned by Simon Perry. Built in 1969 and in restored condition. (With special thanks to John & Joan Lewis, and Paul Cumberland of Site Welding Services without whose help, this tractor would still be unfinished ).
Massey Ferguson 178 with 4WT conversion in Northern Ireland.
Massey Ferguson 178 with 4WT conversion. Based in Yorkshire. Still in nettle bed.....awaiting TLC.
Massey Ferguson 168 with 4WT conversion - seen in Classic Tractor supplement.

Very pleased with their excellent service so far!
(We recently had to change from crazyhostguy.com, after being a customer (and with several other domains) for many years. They always used to be fairly good, but their customer "service" has unfortunately steadily got worse until the last month when it has become an absolute nightmare! I have lost count of the emails and telephone calls from UK to Canada and I am Not impressed! I am sorry to say that I would now have no hesitation in nominating them for "worst customer service ever").
